Respiratory System - Got Breathing Problems?

Your respiratory system is an amazing collection of organs which facilitate the delivery and distribution of life-giving oxygen to every single cell in your body.

It also expels carbon dioxide, which is a waste product of your body's cells.

Oxygen is just part of several gases that constitute the air that you breathe in and yet, it's the most important because every cell in your body needs it for energy and growth.

When you breathe in dirty air or even if indoor air quality is poor, your system filters out foreign particles that enter your respiratory tract either through your mouth or your nose.

Some pollutants and other form of intruders such as bacteria and viruses are eaten by the macrophages in your immune system with proteolytic enzymes.

Tiny hairs known as cilia protect your respiratory tract by filtering out dust and other unwelcome organisms that enter your nose along with the air that you inhale. Cilia are also present in your trachea. They prevent fluids and other particles from entering your lungs.

But the bad news is that in today's poor air quality due to the presence of ever-increasing air pollutants around us, chances are, you and I might develop breathing problems sooner or later.

It could mean serious trouble down the road when you regularly experience shortness of breath because your lungs are constantly exposed to an array of allergens and pollutants.

These are:

  • Air-borne Pollen
  • Car Exhaust
  • Cigarette Smoke
  • Dust
  • Nicotine
  • Smog

Exposure to these allergens and pollutants on a regular basis makes it very difficult for your respiratory system to function efficiently. In addition, getting lung cancer is just one of the dangers of Smoking and exposure to second-hand smoke.

To counteract all of these, your best bet is to strengthen your respiratory functions and your immune system.

Do a lung cleanse by drinking aloe vera gel and fruit and vegetable juices.
